Synopsis of Policies & Procedures 

Child Contact List 

  1. Fill out your child’s emergency contact list and update it immediately when changes arise.  Let us know who is picking up your child if they are not on the list and have them bring their ID. 

  1. Biological parents will not be removed from a child’s contact list without a court order  

  1. Keep custody issues and arrangements simple and direct for us.  THEY MUST BE TURNED IN IMMEDIATELY  

Bus 

  1.  A kindergarten and 1st grade student must have an adult at the bus stop to pick up your child after school, or he/she will be brought back to Menallen. 

  1. Students must ride the bus they are assigned to every morning and afternoon unless approved by the schoolAny student wishing to ride home with another student MUST have a note from both parents permitting the arrangement to take place 

  1. No eating or drinking on the bus 

Agenda Book 

  1. The agenda book is available on the website:  uasdraiders.org 

  1. Please follow the dress code policy found on page 11 of the handbook. 

Absences/Excuses 

  1. All absences must be cleared up with an excuse from the parent or guardian.  Parents can send them electronically from the website: uasdraiders.org-Select a School-Menallen Elementary School-Find Quick Links (on right hand side)-Click School ExcusesThere you will see menallen.[email protected] 

  1. An automated phone call should be made to you when your child is absent. 

Vacation 

  1. Please have your child obtain a vacation form from his/her teacher.  Once 10 days of absences have accumulated, any vacation WILL NOT be approved by the office. 

Academic 

  1. CSIU code will allow you to keep track of your child’s grades in school. 

  1. Contact us if you have questions about the code.

Safety 

  1. Fire Drills and/or lockdowns are practiced at the school monthly. 

  1. All students/visitors will be processed through our metal detector. 

Celebrations 

  1. No food will be accepted into the building without prior approval from the office. 

  1. Allergies of the students MUST be known prior to any food coming into the school. 

Bullying 

  1. Bullying will not be tolerated when it is a bullying issue. 

Miscellaneous 

  • Please fill out the Permission to be Photographed form and return it to the school. 

  • No metal water bottles 

  • Do not bring toys, cell phones, or personal items to school. 

  • Meetings must be scheduled between parent and the schoolNo spur of the moment meetings will be held without teacher or school approval. 

  • Please sign up for the School Messenger Texting option if you are asked. 

  • No flyers will be printed and passed out to the studentsPrior approval must be obtained. 

  • Please support our “Live Nice, Stay Strong” incentive. 

Student Arrival/Dismissal 

  1. Student drop off at 8:15 by the flagpole entrance (A14)Go straight past the Nick Galie Marquee. DO NOT MAKE THE FIRST LEFT.   

  1. Students who do not ride a bus will be dismissed at 3:00 pm at the flagpole (A14) entrance. 

  1. Students who do not get picked up every day, just on a random basis, can be picked up at the office (A1) at 3:00 pm. 

  1. The person picking up the child must sign them out with school personnel.
